About International Theatre Collective Eindhoven

International Theatre Collective Eindhoven (ITCE) makes theatre productions for an international audience. The topics of the plays match with current themes that are recognizable for both internationals and locals.

The diversity of the international community is seen as a source of wealth for developing our plays. Cast and crew bring their cultural background, their stories and their commitment and thus make a significant contribution to the content, development, and design of our productions.

ITCE makes theatre plays in which other disciplines are vital. Movement-theater and (life) world-music are key pilars.

"ITCE its a family, I really enjoyed in the company I always felt safe and open to exploring. With good and strong energy, Geert and Marie Josè are lovely people. Geert is an amazing director and I loved a lot his approach during rehearsal and in general how he works. Marie-Josè is super organized and kind, she knows how to do her job and it's also thanks for her if we did a wonderful performance."

"To have been part of an original play like DeHumanize was a memorable experience for me. As just an amateur actor, it was special that we got to work with a professional like Geert. His passion towards theater was inspiring. My co-actors were amazing too, and the environment in the rehearsals warm and supportive. Eindhoven is lucky to have the ITCE."

"An interesting play, without any doubt. The setting was suggestive of the “hold” in a freighter. The passengers were actually also held there. Most of the time practically the whole cast were on stage while the focus shifted continually from one smaller group to the other. And each group had its own problems to work out. A kaleidoscope of intrigues evolved. The audience became aware of the divergent motives of the various characters participating in this project. Gradually the relationship between Alice and Gus became the more dominant factor in the play. This, for me, was also the reason why I got ever more involved. I could not help sympathizing with the fragile Gus. He did his utmost to get a grip on the situation in the ship and to please his demanding wife. Right until the end it was uncertain whether any of his efforts would be effective. The role of Alice was a fascinating one and convincingly performed. In the end one is left wondering what these people’s future is going to look like. There were so many perspectives. Uncertainty, indecisiveness, doubt, naivety but also glimpses of hope and love are ultimately going to help build the new society on Greenland."
